Why we exist

A familiar yellow bus can open a whole new world.

Rolling Transportation Discovery is a Texas nonprofit built around a simple idea: people learn differently when they can see the real thing, ask a question, and make a discovery of their own.

Our supervised, stationary bus exhibit brings school-bus safety, transportation systems, careers, and familiarization into the community. Little Pre-Trip builds observation and safety habits. Ready to Ride gives children space to become comfortable with an unfamiliar bus environment.

Britton H.

Founder & Director

Turning transportation experience into community learning.

Britton founded RTD to bring the lessons of school transportation beyond the daily route. As a former school bus driver and current airline pilot, he understands how preparation, clear communication, and consistent safety habits shape the experience of the people who depend on transportation.

He brings that perspective to RTD’s programs: making a professional pre-trip approachable, helping children feel more comfortable around a bus, and turning real equipment into meaningful conversations about safety and careers.

Christopher E.

Director & Safety Coordinator

Making safety part of how we teach.

Christopher brings a flight instructor’s approach to RTD: prepare carefully, explain clearly, and help people build confidence through practice. His background in teaching and mentorship supports learning experiences that are structured, welcoming, and easy to follow.

As Director & Safety Coordinator, he helps shape safe exhibit practices and practical instruction, keeping supervision, visitor understanding, and thoughtful preparation central to Little Pre-Trip, Ready to Ride, and RTD’s community events.

Andres E.

Director & Social Media Coordinator

Connecting the community with the purpose behind the bus.

Andres is an airline pilot with a background in customer interaction and entrepreneurship. He brings an understanding of how to earn trust, listen to different audiences, and communicate a clear purpose—skills that help families and community partners connect with RTD.

As Director & Social Media Coordinator, he translates hands-on learning into accessible stories, educational posts, and program updates. His focus is on showing what children can discover, why transportation safety matters, and how the community can take part.

Benjamin B.

Director & Financial Coordinator

Putting a strong financial foundation beneath the mission.

Benjamin is a CFP® professional who brings a strong financial background to RTD’s operations. His perspective helps connect day-to-day spending with the organization’s educational purpose and longer-term needs.

As Director & Financial Coordinator, he supports budgeting, financial planning, and clear records so RTD can make informed decisions about program materials, event readiness, and the resources needed to sustain its work. His focus is responsible stewardship of the support entrusted to RTD.

Theodore C.

Outreach Coordinator

Building partnerships that put learning within reach.

Theodore, also known as Teddy, is an airline pilot with a background working with children and experience supporting safety projects. He brings an appreciation for clear communication, practical preparation, and the different ways young people engage with new experiences.

As Outreach Coordinator, he connects RTD with businesses, community organizations, and potential supporters. His work turns shared interests in children, safety, and education into conversations about donations, useful supplies, sponsorships, and opportunities to bring RTD into the community.

A second life
built around learning.

After serving in Arizona, this 2007 Blue Bird All American RE began a new chapter as RTD’s educational exhibit. Its real equipment gives every lesson a reference point—from mirrors and exits to the rear engine compartment.
